About Backcasting

Backcasting is a methodology that couples an aspirational “North Star” sustainability vision with a practical plan and tracking system for any type of project – a building, master plan, community, or organizational sustainability program.

Brightworks and a few key partners helped pioneer the application of the backcasting technique to built environment projects.
