Shaver Green Apartments
Certified LEED Gold
The Shaver Green Apartments refute the idea that healthy buildings are only available at luxury prices. This urban-infill project provides numerous healthy and resource efficient units of lower income housing and services for Permanent Supportive Housing tenants.
The building's environmental strategies include an 18.2 kilowatt solar array and high efficiency appliances and windows. These and other strategies contribute to a projected energy savings of $42,000 per year. The building will save a projected 700,000 gallons of water per year with low flow fixtures and dual-flush toilets. And despite Shaver Green's largely paved, urban site, all stormwater is managed on the property to reduce the burden on the city water system.
