Cisco Site 5.1 and McCarthy Ranch Campuses
Certified LEED-CI Gold
Brightworks managed the LEED Gold Certification of the entire build-out of Cisco’s
McCarthy Ranch and Site 5.1 campuses in Milpitas, California. The campuses included a
total of 7 buildings with office space for Cisco employees, which featured flex-space for many types of work spaces: workstations, touchdown spaces, privacy rooms, focus booths, open project spaces, team rooms, lounges and dens.
All of the spaces support different types of virtual collaboration using IP technology and video conferencing. As part of the LEED program, Cisco moved towards a more natural plant palette with drought-tolerant species, ultra-low-flow plumbing fixtures, all low-emitting materials in the interiors, task-lights for all employees, green cleaning and building
education practices, and separate mechanical zones for most of the “touch-down” and
informal workspaces. The Site 5.1 project alone saves more than 1.3 million gallons of water
every year with efficient plumbing fixtures.
